Tanuki Japanese Restaurant is an "Izakaya" style restaurant with the rustic warmth of a country style restaurant that serves all the Japanese favourites.
We serve over twenty types of sake and this comes by 1.8l bottle or tokkuri 360ml bottle, and is served hot or cold. Ask about "bottle keep" which is when you buy your own 1.8l bottle and it sits behind the counter with your name on it for you to enjoy every time you visit the restaurant.
Our fully trained Japanese chefs come direct from Japan. We have at all times we have endeavoured to maintained a genuine Japanese style and atmosphere.
We also cater to large groups of up to 15 people in the "zashiki" area at the back of the restaurant where you take your shoes off and enjoy a level of privacy while still being part of the restaurant atmosphere.
For even larger groups we have our Private function room on the mezzanine floor. This can hold up to 35 people and set menu only and you have your own waitress for the night.
